Our software application allows for multiple contests, tournaments and events, multiple language participation and multiple currency pooling.
All wagers can be monitored by the player and the public. There will be onsite supervision eliminating foul play. The events are land-based and limited to human participants. The events are in general, covered by the media, which also makes for meaningful monitoring. The convenience of land-based kiosks in all participating gaming establishments, combined with real time odds on each event, makes it even more beneficial.
When you bet on a horse race you are not playing against the house. Instead you are making a parimutuel wager and are betting against all the other players wagering on that event. Parimutuel betting is credited to Pierre Oller who in 1865 had the idea to sell tickets on a horse race and to keep all the proceeds in a common prize pool to be split amongst the winners. That was the start of a new era in horse race betting that still exists today - that was the beginning of parimutuel wagering.
Today computers calculate betting pools and current odds on each horse and flash the figures to the public at regular intervals. The system is used largely for off-track betting. Parimutuel betting is also practiced in dog racing and jai alai.
