LAS VEGAS, Dec. 20/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Parimutuel Wagering™ today announced it received approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission for their proposed amendments to NGC Regulation 22.120, "ProhibitedWagers" to allow Nevada race and sports books to accept parimutuel wagers on regulated competitive tournaments, such as poker tournaments, billiard tournaments, dart tournaments, and other competitive tournaments of a similar nature; to take such additional action as may be necessary and proper to effectuate this stated purpose.

The term "Regulated Competitive tribal tournament's was defined as a tournament or contest either (1) wholly based on a gambling game, such as a black jack tournament, a craps tournament, a slot tournament, or the like when at least thirty-two (32) contestants compete in such a tournament and it is conducted by a non-restricted gaming license in Nevada or by its affiliates outside Nevada, provided that such affiliate also holds an appropriate gaming license for conducting such tournament; or (2) any other tournament that (a) has at least a ten (10) year collective history; (b) has generally accepted rules which are available; (c) is strictly land-based with on-site supervision; (d) is strictly limited to human contestants; (e) is prinicipally limited to adult contestants; (f) has at least thirty-two (32) contestants; (g) requires both skill and some physiological control for winning, such as golf tournaments, poker tournaments, billiard tournaments, auto (nascar) racing, soccer, or darts tournament, etc.; and (h) is normally the subject of some media interest.
